This large, vintage "CUPIE" (
Kewpie
), carnival-style doll from the
1920s
is of
sturdy composition like, chalk ware
and
stands, 12 inches tall with huge painted, side-glancing (googly)
👀
eyes with hi-lites and long eyelashes, eyebrows,
molded hair and
molded wings,
pug nose and rosy smiling mouth.  She has
jointed arms,
and
wide-spread little hands
to greet you
with nice finger detail, pudgy tummy and stiff chubby legs, cute tush, and flat feet on pedestal. She still has all her original paint finish and all her
original,
crepe paper clothing including her bathing bonnet.
She will bring a smile to your face every time you look at her!
These were extremely popular vacation holiday
