DOLL Skookum Composition Heads Baby on her back; Shell earrings 17" tall -1940's

Description

Skookum mother and baby dolls both glancing expectantly to the right (good luck). Check out the history of Sookum Dolls if you aren't familiar with them.
Doll is approximately 17" tall. Both mother and child have composition heads- both heads in great condition for their age - no scratches, chips or cracks. Hair appears to be mohair. Mother's body is stuffed with what feels like straw. Legs are straight pegs.
She is missing a foot.
The foot appears to be carved from soft wood and covered with tape or paper.
She has original clothing and jewelry. Her earrings are beads and real sea shells.
She has been taken good care of it, but the years have caused wear. The skirt is
becoming
thread bare (fortunately it's under her blanket). I think it could be duplicated like the other and repaired to match.
I haven't tried to fix or change anything so she remains in unaltered vintage as-is condition. I will leave repairs to the purchaser because I believe she is more valuable "as is" without repairs.
